Is eight months too long to wait for a booster?

Breakthrough cases happen when a fully vaccinated person gets infected with Coronavirus.

Breakthrough cases are on the rise. With the Delta variant arriving in July, things have shifted. According to The New York Times, one in five new cases is of a vaccinated individual. This fact was pulled from data from seven states that are keeping detailed records.

For my family, it happened in the most unlikely of times. We are finally home more often since my daughter's softball team is on break and it has been 5 1/2 months since our vaccine.

There are only two reasons I could think of why we got infected. First, we took our daughters to a small amusement park. There were a few people there. Most wore masks including us. We did take it off occasionally to eat and then towards the end they just came off.

Reasons I could think of why we got sick are my kids bringing it home from summer camp. My girls, ages 6 and 7, came home with headaches and fevers one day. A few days later my oldest got sick, the next day I did, and so on. I don’t know if the fever and headaches were a result of the amusement park that we went to a few days earlier or camp?
