Five Takeaways from being on Lockdown because of Covid-19.

Lesson #1
Enjoy being home.
During the pandemic I have gotten rid of so many things that were not bringing us joy. I brought in things that I believed would enhance our life. For example, knowing that we were going to be spending a lot of time at home, I replaced our 12 year old couch, bought an area rug and a coffee table. We have already made more memories in this space as a family in this short time than we did in the previous 5 years of living in this home.
I have learned to love and appreciate every space in my home. We have left our home for a few nights during this time and I realize that I miss our home. My whole family is always happy to return to our base. Making my home my refuge is not anything I will every take for granted again.
Lesson #2
Life, like cooking, should be done with patience, love and joy.
When growing up I was helping my grandma cook and I felt the process was taking too long. I asked her if we could turn up the heat to finish faster to which she replied, “when you take your time cooking something it comes out better”. I have always held on to that because her cooking was the best. Hence, I am a fan of the slow cooker and have yet to purchase an insta pot.
