I’m Never Getting Used to Pandemic Life

Not all is bad. I did start working on my passion projects that I don’t know if I would have ever gotten around too had it not been for the pandemic. Being around my kids is also no longer hard. It took time to get used to, but now I think we have developed a co-dependent relationship. I have also gotten used to and am enjoying being home a lot.

That being said, there are things that I’m not ever going to be able to do without.

Working from home with a full house is a not normal.

Even if you have a big house, which, I don’t. If you have a nanny, which, I do, part-time, doesn’t take away the fact that your kids know your home. They will knock on your door for that one question. If you leave your work space (my bedroom) to use the restroom or grab a quick bite they come running because no one can replace mom or dad. Plus, the guilt of working keeps you from shushing them away each time.

When they were in school, we missed each other. I got to do my work and was pretty much done by the time I picked them up from school. We got to stop at the park on the way home if that is what we wanted. We got to get dinner started together. I was able to sit and help with homework.
