Perspective
Have you checked yours lately?
In one’s life, we will face an average of nine hardships. You can let those situations affect your life permanently or you can see the silver lining.
I personally believe our perspective defines whether we grow from a situation or not.
Childhood Trauma
When I was young my dad was an alcoholic and was abusive to our pets, my mom and us kids. As you can imagine, I never grew up dreaming of what my dream wedding would look like. I never wanted to get married or have kids.
With the example my parents set, I wondered why anyone would want to get married. I didn’t even want to have children because I didn’t want them to experience the hurt and fear that I had growing up.
Luckily, I decided to get married. I had children. It is the best decision I ever made. I live for them because I didn’t know that I could ever be this happy.
I am grateful that my perspective has changed on marriage and parenthood. I wish this for everyone. There is nothing like having a family of my own that I get to re-live my childhood with.
I work hard to create a healthy environment for my family. I work on myself daily to not let my traumas affect me as a mom or wife.
