Such a tragic loss. It is easy to misjudge weather or situations on the trail.

A long time ago, my girlfriends and I went on a hike in Palm Springs. The trail had little to no shade. We ran out of water in the first hour. We were throwing up from dehydration. Luckily, we had phone reception and were able to call for help. We were rescued and we made the paper the next day with tips on how to stay safe during hot temperatures.
