The World is Re-opening, what are People Spending Money on?
Vaccines are allowing for the world to resume some level of normalcy. What does this mean for people’s wallets?
With the small taste that I have had with being out in the world again, I can definitely see my expenses going up. I’m also reading and talking to people who are suddenly busy. Busy people eat out, need clothes, drive a lot etc…
Here are six areas where I see expenses skyrocketing as the world re-opens.
- Transportation (gas, insurance, public transportation, and car maintenance)
People are leaving their house more. Automobiles are is still the most popular means of travel.
Those heading outside of their homes are doing so to visit family. Attend sporting events. Carpool to school. Going back to the office.
With more driving, drivers will be spending more on gas, oil changes and delayed car maintenance.
In addition, some depend on public transportation or car services to get around.
My daughter travels for softball. In the past two months we have traveled hundreds of miles to attend her tournaments. I had to get a new timing belt, which cost me $1,300.
