We Are All Born to Die
In the end, nothing matters.
Stop wasting money and time building things to prevent the inevitable. It doesn’t matter if you have an underground dwelling or bunker. You are still a mortal and are going to die at some point.
The last book I read was by the Dalai Lama, Advice on Dying and Living a Better Life.
It’s one of those books that isn’t going to wow you on any level. It will tell you what you already know but don’t want to think about. After reading the book, I feel more at peace and excited about life and death.
I understand that when it’s my time to die
- My wealth won’t matter
- My friendships won’t matter
- The car I drive, or the size of my house won’t matter
- My body shape won’t matter
The only thing that will matter is how I feel. I want to feel peaceful and unafraid. How can I make that happen?
I have no idea how I will die or when. That is completely out of my control. I can die today, tomorrow, or in 50 years. Whenever that is, I will be ready. In the meantime, I can live my life with a compassionate heart.
